AdelaideNow... Rann talks up mining boom:
"'The increase in commodity prices, the mining boom that was the story of the last couple of years, I don't think will be the story of the next couple of years,' he said."
We do have some good mining opportunities in SA and it could create a lot of jobs and prosperity, but mines need water and water is scarce, so Peter Costello is probably right...our mines won't be able to operate and make money because we have no water to spare. Some Australians are down to the bucket of water for their gardens. We are surrounded by the stuff...but it's full of salt . Our natural, drinkable water is not plentiful and that is what mines need.
