Adelaide Uni loses ranking

AdelaideNow... Adelaide Uni loses ranking:

"Adelaide held 56th position in the world's top 200 universities in 2004, according to The Times Higher Education Supplement.

However, in 2006, the university fell to 105th on the ranking table - behind seven other Australian universities."

Adelaide cannot keep trading on its past record. If its ranking has dropped, like our other universities, then we need to front up to the issue and stop pretending we are okay. Having seen uni through the eyes of my daughter and her friends over the last 6 years I can say there is some really great stuff going on but there are some real issues which need to be addressed so we create the edge, the momentum, the moving forward. The innovation and inspiration are there but it's the lifting of the game which needs to be attended to. Literacy seems to be holding us up at the tertiary level.
