Stop burying your heads in the sand

AdelaideNow... Stop burying your heads in the sand:

"'I'm disappointed Australians aren't bringing (Prime Minister John) Howard up and saying we want to be part of a global commitment.'"

We haven't been burying our heads in the sand. We have a government which goes LA, LA, LA, LAAAAA,LALA, LA...when we are talking serious issues. We have a government which is ignoring us. They stick their fingers in their ears and sing ting a ling a loo. They are not in the least interested in working with us and we have been on and on and on about climate change and other issues. We are doing what we can without them because, let's face it, the government has to fund things, set up initiatives , sign protocols...in short, LEAD. When they don't, we operate as teams and we can hook up but the major player has no listening skills nor is it able to work collaboratively with its nation. It is increasingly us and them and that is not a democracy at all. Now, Dr. Suzuki, you can rest assured we have been listening to you and other environmental speakers carefully. We have liked what we have heard and read and we have been discussing it in depth. I am glad I live in SA because the Rann government has done a lot for environmental issues with regard to energy initiatives and forward thinking. They are currently working on water , water, water and Adelaide has enjoyed some interesting environmental research projects. So please, don't tell us, tell our leaders!!
