Health system big winner in SA budget. :
"Health spending is the big-ticket item in Treasurer Kevin Foley's fifth budget, with $640 million to be spent on the state's ailing health system over the next four years."
Educating the young, keeping everyone fit and healthy and cutting back on pollution ought to be the priorities of any government. We need fit, happy and healthy thinkers. We need people who are in control and who feel well enough to do and to produce. It's about people. Businesses keep concentrating on their profits, productivity and shareholders but a nation needs to build flexible, alert people who feel as though they can manage anything and who feel well enough to put in. Neglect health and education and the economy will also drop because people have no skills, poeple can't get adequate care and people are always worrying. Education, health and wellbeing have to come first. Then we need to look at environmental issues. Public transport improvements will help visitors and tourists and encourage us to get around without our expensive , polluting cars. The budget has tageted primary concerns. The rest can be negotiated into it. We are no good without knowledge, health and personal stability.
