J'accuse? Non! Chirac hails Zidane as a national hero: "'Materazzi said something very grave to him. I don't know what it was. I know Zizou [Zidane] well and he will not reveal what Materazzi said to him but he will in one or two days' time explain why he had such a reaction.' - Zidane's agent Alain Migliaccio"
Zidane is Zidane. It would be like if Andrew Agassi or Steve Waugh did something like that. He's been around the traps. He has played so many high level games. He is a man of great talent and experience. The truth is out there and the truth will be heard. No one could believe it. No one appears to have judged him badly. Something went very wrong. He is a tough man and has been on the battlefield for his country many, many times. But he is a footballer and a total legend. We have read things from lip readers and there has been much discussion. The concensus where I am is that something awful must have happened because he is not that stupid. This is his last match. Why would he want to go out on a red card? He is expert enough to know what he is doing and so ...what did happen because we are not happy . He is just a fantastic player and if I heard Jason Gillespie had done something like that I would be very worried indeed.
