Scientists help bodies grow new organs. :
"'Now currently we have been able to make breast tissue, fat, muscle, pancreas tissue that secretes insulin and we have also created thymus tissue, which may have an application in immunology.'"
This really is the new millennium. It's the sort of thing I expect to hear in 2006. I want to be convinced we have moved away from our old selves and we are using all the knowledge from our previous generations to set teh new millennium up in a positive way. People do need new organs. Poeple do suffer horribly from organ damage. I fwe can now recreate them, even if it won't be perfected for another 10 years, that is a real step forward in modern living and it's what you'd expect in new generation medicine. I am still waiting for the magic cupboard you step in which scans your body and picks up illnesses before they are serious. I want it to give me a print out of my health status. Can't wait.
