A-G sceptical of Hicks torture claims

A-G sceptical of Hicks torture claims :

"Attorney-General Philip Ruddock today said he had no knowledge of evidence backing the claim, made in the latest issue of the Australian publication, The Monthly Magazine."

So who is going to ascertain the truth of this? Who is going to find out whether the claims are true or without foundation? I guess it's not your son, so who cares? Don't you think Mr. Hicks senior has suffered enough? Don't you think he has been very reasonable and rational in the most hideous of circumstances for his son? Don't you think he deserves the dignity of knowing what is occurring with his son? I have nothing but admiration for Mr. Hicks because every step of the way he has tried to work with a government and officials who do not care about his son, but as a normal citizen of Australia he deserves to know what is going on. Denying it, understating it doesn't alter the fact that Guantanomo Bay is outside the law and David Hicks has been kept there and kept there and kept there. It's a no man's land and Mr. Hick's senior has made every effort to work with authorities and uphold the values of our nation. He is a remarkable man and a great father.
