Recovery by humpback whales

The Australian: Recovery by humpback whales :
"An International Whaling Commission committee meeting in Hobart yesterday was told humpback whales off Australia's east and west coasts now numbered about 16,000, compared with fewer than 1000 in the 1960s. But scientists said the recovery should not provide any comfort to Japan, which would begin killing 50 humpbacks a year in 2007-08 under its so-called scientific program."

The first part is good news indeed and shows what can happen when we co operate. We are capable of repairing the constant damage we do to our home by living here. It's great when peole co operate across the world to look after our habitat. It's much nicer with nature. Whale populates have yet to recover elsewhere in the southern hemisphere. We can hope to hear good news about that.
