Brits urged to eat squirrel

The Australian: Brits urged to eat squirrel :

"The animal, made famous by the Squirrel Nutkin character in author Beatrix Potter's illustrated children's books, once thrived in Britain but is now battling for survival as imported North American greys run rampant."

The grey squirrels are up to about 2 million whereas the Squirrel Nutkin red squirrels are down to 200,000 mostly in Scotland. I suppose there is no difference between eating squirrel and rabbit but I think they might have a PR job on their hands as we do here with some animals. It is a pragamatic way of solving problems of excess if the plant, animal or bird is in considerable excess. I am curious to see what the British people do and I am even more curios to know how they will serve the poor wee things!
