The Australian: Boom time spawns new billionaires :
"Forbes magazine said the bumper crop was due to a worldwide economic boom. Soaring stock, oil and commodity prices increased their combined net worth to $US2.6 trillion ($3.55 trillion) as 114 people joined the club, including 10 more women, for a total of 78."
There is only so much money in the world. If we have increased the number of billionnaires, we have taken the money from somewere for them to have that much. Seriously, how much money do you need to lead a "good" life , even if you do want to squander a bit? The youngest is the 22 year old Hind Hariri and Russia has added quite a few billionnaires to the list. Maybe we should have a list of those who haven't got anything and how their numbers are increasing. In 2006 I think we can do better than that. There is enough money for everyone to eat and live and then have some left over for those who want to do their business deals and get even more money.
