PM stops short of making any 'bloody' comments. :

"The ads feature a variety of Australian scenes and end with a bikini clad woman on a beach asking potential tourists 'where the bloody hell are you?'"

Maybe we need to try it out on some potential tourists and get some feed back. I don't see the idea as controversial to use bloody in an ad, but it's not really beach language. Nor is it Prime Minister language and Kim Beasley is righy that we'd say if you drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot. We probably wouldn't say bloody to people we don't know. It's something we might use with people we know well or with the drink/driving behaviour. So our politicians have zeroed in on the problem with the ads. It's really not how we are anymore. It's very dated and that's the real issue. We know the culture behind it but overseas people don't and it only perpetuates a culture we don't have. Very mid last century, don't you think? I don't know, you bloody work it out.
