Okay, another Blog Shares mission, but, yet again, I feel happy to do this. I am, infact humbled by this one. This girl is 19 years old and she has got off her backside and created a pretty classy, functional, easy to navigate site for single parents. It's not just for single mothers as the title of the blog might appear. She needs buttons and graphics for the site, so if you are able to help, I have linked her right at the top of Blog Jogging, but will do it here
Single Mothers' Resource for Life so you don't get lost! It's obviously a new site and she is doing it because her friend,18, has been left with one child and pregnant. We've discussed this issue a lot in Adelaide, about how young girls are disadvantaged because they can become single parents early in their lives and then miss the education and training they need to earn an income and support themselves independently. We could learn a lot from the proactive attitude of this young girl in America. She's looking to create a very strong support network to enable these single parents to remain positive and go ahead. I've been a single mother, but I had a good income and it was later in life, not as a teenager. You really do the hard yards, but as a younger person ,it would be tough. Jordan is making a real effort here, so let me encourage you to encourage her!! What a legend!!
