Quarantine officers prevent invasion :
"More than 40 masses of insect eggs belonging to the Asian gypsy moth were discovered on a Russian chemical tanker earlier this week.
The masses, which can hold up to 1200 eggs, were at least two weeks from hatching."
Our quarantine officers have been on the ball this year. I am not sure how they have been so successful but they have been very good at identifying scourges about to enter Australia, even single spiders and what have you. They should be well rewarded for their efforts!
