The Advertiser: Doves for Maria Korp :
"In a silent, tearless tribute to their mother following the mass, Mrs Korp's daughter, Laura De Gois, 27, and Damien took their places beside the coffin on the steps of Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church in East Brunswick.
Together, they each released two doves, Ms De Gois offering up a final smile for her mother as she released the birds."
Maria Korp's funeral appears to have given her the peace and recognition she didn't have by being strangled by her husband's former mistress and left to die in the car boot. I shall still say, it is so sad she didn't survive that. Tania Herman is serving 9 years jail now for attempted murder and the husband, Joe Korp is about to go on trial. He was allowed to see his wife before she died but was not allowed to attend the funeral. Maria's children have been through so much. It must be so hard on them, especially the 11 year old boy. I do not suppose they will be able to sort any of this out for years, but I hope they can find some sense in all of the pain .
