Chouchou pi doo

Do you like my chouchou? Like all markets the ones in Noumea had things people had handcrafted...bags, jewellery, carvings, things from shell. There were some beautifully artistic things by local artisans, but they also had lovely colourful things like these chouchoux. In exchange, they were delighted and impressed with the lovely, colourful trousers I was wearing that I had bought in the Adelaide markets, you know, that shop where you go in and they have colourful bags, tops, blankets...a wonderful treasure trove. I love markets. The people in Vanuatu also loved those trousers I had bought in the Adelaide markets. I think I got a few tourists over to Adelaide just by wearing those colouful and distinctive trousers! They'll be so disappointed when they see us all in grey, blue, brown...our winter plumage Posted by Picasa
