Bird flu

Channelnewsasia.com:

"'It's an international crisis, it has to be an international vision for awareness, surveillance and early response,' said Joseph Domenech, chief veterinary officer for the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)."

It's true. This is where globalisation works and it is 2005 and how we are. We have a capacity to know what the global issues are and we have the power to communicate globally and then we can disseminate information so that we can act locally. Japan and China are two countries I am aware of that have been doing a lot to try to manage the bird flu in their countries. Migratory birds make it trickier. Pooling our resources seems a logical step and then we need the overview. We are only just learning how to operate as planet earth because it has only just become clear to us that we can. If we are critical of bureaucracy slowing global action down then that is something we need to take a look at. Our strength is our diversity .
