Transport makeover

There's talk today of electrifying and upgrading our rail system. Wouldn't that be great? Our trains aren't that bad now the Red Hens have been put away, but an upgrade to fancy new trains would be incredible. The line down south really needs to be extended as a lot more people are living out this way and tourists to the region would probably appreciate public transport which goes to destinations of interest. This whole south coast could be far better accessed by train. It might take the petrol fumes out of the city and the traffic off the roads. I remember some transport expert from overseas saying on the radio last year that Adelaide is the 20 minute city but we plan our whole city around cars and try to run our lives according to the needs of cars rather than humans. If people could access trains and buses more easily, they'd probably enjoy the spectacular trip along the coast by train.
