Picnic at Hanging Rock :
"Joan Lindsay’s evocative novel Picnic at Hanging Rock has for the first time, been brought together with images from Peter Weir’s classic Australian film."
This is one of our really good stories because it is eerie. It is bizarre and the film captures the otherworldliness of it very well. I was watching the new version of The Italian Job at the weekend. I confess I wasn't well disposed to watching it , but by the time I'd seen the DVD and heard the director and actors talk about the film, I was sold on the integrity of all involved. I still love the old version with Michael Caine, but it's old and has a different feel. While I was watching I was thinking it would be great to have a new version of Picnic at Hanging Rock. It still has all the things we currently need as viewers and we are even better at making those sorts of films based on real experiences but set in another time. I'd love to see it!!
