New Orleans administration cuts 3,000 jobs. :
"'After weeks of working to secure funds to make payroll, the City of New Orleans today announces it has been forced to lay off up to 3,000 classified and unclassified city workers as a result of the financial constraints in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.'"
This is so sad. Louisiana is also suffering the same problems. The people who can ill afford to lose their income are losing. They have lost everything else, many of them, and now their jobs. It looks like it will take an incredibly long time to repair the flood damaged areas and those sorts of conditions are not easily righted. I hope the American government will be able to think of ways to reintegrate that community into new areas or its own areas and have a plan which will keep people afloat. If rebuilding is to be done, the jobs will come back. I guess it's the time frame which people will need and then a way of earning their living elsewhere. New Orleans seems to be completely bogged down in all senses of the word and I do not think those people deserve that . They showed a helluva lot of fighting spirit when the conditions were really tough.
