Lavender custard tests taste boundaries

The Australian: Lavender custard tests taste boundaries [March 29, 2005]:

"LONDON: Lavender-flavoured custard and ice cream with a hint of green tea or chilli could be the next big hit in the drive to entice the palates of bored consumers with unfamiliar foods."

Why not? Then we could have sardine icecream and achovy icing...if you're bored with strawberries and chocolate and pineapple ...and you need chilli to get going....develop a full palate!!! Most food these days are front of palate food because they are over processed and refined and the "taste" is gone. Food produced in healthy, normal conditions engages the full palate and you could never become bored. Speaking of NZ..when I made vegetable soup there , I could just use vegetables. Everything had such a full flavour, there was no need for additives and extras. So...grow proper food!! Experimenting with food sensations is good...claiming people are BORED should be ringing alarm bells.
