Soldiers return from Afghanistan reconstruction posting. : "For the past six months they have been part of the first reconstruction taskforce in Afghanistan, working on community building projects and training Afghan civilians in trade skills."
Afghanistan has had at least 20 years of occupation. It has the highest infant mortality rate in the world and it has the highest number of women dying in childbirth. In 2007 that kind of thing ought to be a novel curiosity of the past. I am really glad to know we are doing something positive there and that these troops have been a part of that. Heaven only knows it's time for history to change.
