La Prisonnière
I am about two thirds of the way through this book and I suspect it would read better in french.Michèle Fitoussi helped Malika Oufkir to write the story. She was brought up with the daughter of the King of Morocco but her father, General Oufkir, plotted a coup against him, was executed and then the nine member family was exiled and imprisoned. I remember seeing it some time ago on a french site and wanted to read it. It turned up at the local book store a month ago and here I am. It is fascinating but very sad. Another story of how horrible people can be but also how kind and spirited they can be too. I am glad the french woman encouraged her to tell her tale.
