It may look like we are facing one disaster after another. It may look like we have our backs to the the wall. It may Look like we have too much on our plate. We haven't thrown our hands up in the air and carried on like pork chops. We have got in there and done what has needed to be done. We have shut down the critics, the snipers, the garrulous onlookers and kept everyone focussed on connecting and doing. Everyone has been in there doing one way or another. It has been bringing us together and it has enriched and refreshed our spirit. All this pain and heartache has connected us in a very real way. So now you can hear things like it's no use us sticking our heads in the sand. That we need to haul together. That we need to look for solutions and not be part of the problem. We have been focussed and we have realised we need to wake up to ourselves. We have to look after ourselves and we need to look after our own. We are starting to stand up and be counted and know the only way we are going to get through this lot is to make sure we are working for one another and doing it in the way we do it best...the Australian way. We weren't sure what that meant, but now we know it's about hauling together, facing the facts, looking out for your mate and bloody waking up to yourself.
