Police Officer Paralysed

"THE older of the two brothers cleared of the assault of a police office has thanked police for saving his father's life."

Matt Butcher ,who was paralysed as a result of the attack on him by the man who has been judged not guilty ,was almost speechless when he spoke with his wife on television tonight. He and his wife were very quiet and very subdued. There was no sense of justice for either of them because we have all seen the footage and the footage is still there for us to see.The policeman is paralysed.  So yes, we are all a bit baffled. We get the bit the man was trying to protect his father whom the police officer had shot with a taser. His father had a heart attack. So we get the fact he was probably outraged and emotional. That was his dad. The rest? The media has brought this before us again because Australia is normally a fair country and we just do not see that. at the moment.  We do not understand the verdict and maybe there is something we have misunderstood? If nothing else we need to look at it all again. I'm sorry, but I think we do, or we shall make our own judgements and that is not right. When someone said that police will now think about whether they intervene or not is quite true. It's like those who have been sued for applying first aid. They too are now thinking. This approach will not help us one bit nor further us as a community.
