Fined for Howling

"The court was told that on January 14 police attended a home in Greenfields, south of Perth, because an intoxicated man had been howling loudly in his front yard."

The Perth man was fined 400 dollars for disorderly behaviour because he wouldn't stop howling in his front garden. It doesn't say what he thought he was doing or thought he was imitating. Sounds a bit weird. Who goes into the front yard and howls? Yodelling, yes, I  get that, but howling??? Is he all right? The neighbours must have been driven bonkers but I think I 'd be laughing if one of my neighbours decided to howl for hours out the front. Would you howl out the front??
