AdelaideNow... Dating on TV a question of right motive
Relationships Australia vice-president Anne Hollonds says that for now, dating shows will remain as a form of entertainment rather than an avenue for finding true love.
James Kerley is making this show. His cheerful, witty, amicable personality and his good looks are making him very popular in his peer group but his personality is that fortunate blend of friendliness and quick wit which just keeps the show moving on, doesn't let people feel embarrassed and is a hit with so many age groups. The front line is what makes or breaks a show like this. The contestants are well chosen because it might be the odd name, or the forthright personality or the incredible niceness which gets you interested. I have seen bits and pieces of it because it goes on in this home around home time for everyone and the cheerful nature of the show and the good sport disposition of everyone gets us all cheerful and over the strain of work. Iit's very much a show that adopts the attitude that if this works well, that's great, but if it doesn't...never mind there will be other opportunities. It's about getting people out there and not worrying too much if it will work or not. Lots of people don't form relationships because they take it all too seriously. They forget to just take the opportunities which are there or to go out and have fun anyway and just appreciate that another person can be good to have around but not for them as a love interest.
