Power meters may switch on advertising in homes : "The Government has ruled that the new meter boxes must be able to communicate with in-house display units to show householders how much electricity they are using at any time and how much they are paying for it."
Spare us. I don't mind a meter which monitors my use and shows me which appliances are burning up my money...but if anyone thinks they are going to put advertising in my home with something like that...no, no and no again. I get all the advertising I need with TV, the Net, magazines and junk mail. I hardly listen to the radio now because I got so sick of the ads. If I want something I'll look and there are plenty of avenues to show me what's new and what's cool without polluting my home. Forget it!
