Where's Kevin? Cardboard cut-out causes House chaos : "'It is very disappointing indeed that the Opposition, which has lost its way, which has got no ideas to put forward for the nation, has taken out their frustration at their defeat at the last federal election on the Parliament itself,' he said."
Lost its way??? Lost the plot. Lost its marbles, lost its credibility. As I went about my business today I was really aware that everyone was doing their job and well. I was thinking...I have no idea if these people have a boss here today or not. They are pleasant, polite, enthusiastic and on the ball. I had a great time out and about today because people in Adelaide were really taking a pride in a job well done and the communication from that was really worthwhile. So then I was thinking about my own situation. Over the last few years my bosses have been there and not there. Sometimes they are away for quite a time because these days they have to participate in all sorts of things to create confidence, keep up to date and develop their leadership skills. While they are away we just get on with our jobs but it means some people get a chance to flex their leadership skills in the short term and pick up useful competencies which can help them develop their own career path. We get a bit of change and variety and a chance to try promotion positions out. What we have in parliament is a total inability to take our country seriously. The more I think about it , the angrier I get. These people are supposed to be our elected leaders. They have a job for which they are being paid. If we behaved like that while the boss was away, one, we should be considered totally incompetent, two, we'd be asked whether we wanted to keep our job or not and three...we actually wouldn't think of behaving like that because we are responsible for our own area of expertise. The opposition is refusing to accept they are not in government and were elected OUT. They are incapable of forming an opposition. They are just behaving badly, throwing tantrums and hissy fits and this has gone out around the world. It is not confidence inspiring. It doesn't bode well for any thought of being a republic and it is a complete denigration of our parliament and our people. I do not think school children would be allowed to behave like this in class. All of those people have a job and they can be there and do it. Kevin Rudd has to be with the flood affected people and the indigenous people. Julia Gillard was there so the opposition is demonstrating that they are hugely disrespectful to her as deputy prime minister. What with Andrew Downer not turning up and now this, the opposition is treating women in the most disgustingly sexist way because they refuse to co operate with them and are playing them for suckers. I am angry because they have no right to do this to our country and we are sitting here...working our damn backsides off and this is what we merit apparently. This is our parliament. If they cannot co operate I suggest someone is put into their place who can do the job. The biggest joke is they blame John Howard for losing the election and that is all they do..blame, cry, bleat, throw tantrums, patronise and abuse...and we can now see who they are and what they are like. Complete work avoiders. They have all the tricks in the book for avoiding work. They are doing nothing and they are stopping others from working. They are even doing nothing and complaining because others have had the cheek to go out and work! So now we know that John Howard must have been some kind of miracle worker to hold this unmotivated, negative, disruptive and arrogant lot together. How he did it will remain his secret and not once did he rat on them as they have done on him, frequently...but now we know what he had to put up with and it is amazing he held them all together for so long...look at them now. They couldn't organise the proverbial you know what in a brewery and they want to be in parliament. I want them out. I am not prepared to be treated like this.
