TV bosses wash their hands of nanny

TV bosses wash their hands of nanny with fake qualifications : "Goal, from which Verity claimed to hold a diploma in childcare, said that it had no record of her and had never offered the diploma."

Go with the name, the face and the idea and forget to check the basics...like qualifications and credibility. Maybe you need to check these things first before you launch a TV series and maybe you need to see the person operating in real life before you engage them. The chefs who have programmes have credentials and are credible because everyone knows who they are and where they come from. We have seen them in real life. The media is apt to run with a name and a face and forget who that person is and what they actually stand for. She may well be a nice lady with some ideas about child care. She may be a great mum or community worker...these things need to be checked out first before you high profile someone. On the up side there is a lesson in credentials to be learned which has been validated time and again with the chefs. Then there is the clear and open debate about what is sound childcare practice and that is a good thing. It's not all bad.
