Sentence suspended on net flasher

Sentence suspended on net flasher's sex act: "A RIVERLAND man has walked from court with a suspended sentence after being caught exposing himself on the internet to a person he thought was a 14-year old girl."

Time will tell, but this is effective policing and justice. Our children are vulnerable on the Net. They just are. The police have shown they can get onto people but the man didn't actually engage with a child. He engaged, unwittingly, with a police officer. So it's a good dose of medicine and a clear indication that it's game on and two can play this game. It's using our brains and our technology to gain the upper hand. It means we all know. It means we can see that the police and law can be effective ...because we know who the man is now. He has a suspended sentence so the teeth are there if he decides to try his luck. It is making an example of him, but maybe there will be more examples. He also has to attend counselling. So we are saying, yes, if you really do this the penalty is already in place. We know who you are and we can play you at the same game...and we shall try and help you change before you do harm. It's about solving the problem and I believe it's a good way. We'll now see if it works.
