Sydney to Hobart leaders powering south -: "Wild Oats is looking to equal Morna's record of three consecutive line honours - set in 1948."
I've got my little yacht tracker going so I can keep an eye on the race. You can link up with Google Earth from the official Sydney to Hobart site too. To me it is never Christmas without the Sydney to Hobart. It doesn't matter I am not a knowledgeable yachtie. I just know Sydney to Hobart is us. It represents our capacity to get out there and do, take on some real challenges and pit our wits against nature. The Sydney to Hobart is a spectacular race but it can be gruelling, really tough and presents some enormous challenges. Those who get through it have done extremely well and those who do not get through it are tough and courageous. It is not a race you can just do. You have to have your wits about you all the time and you have to be able to think fast, in a practical way and you have to have enormous strength. It may look like a doddle sometimes and it can certainly look awesome, but the crews which go into that race are extremely remarkable. Wild Oats got out there in front from the start and is seeming to be performing so well. It would be great for it to create history!
