Storm run-off fit to drink

Storm run-off fit to drink: "Since the project began in September, 2006, 140 million litres of water - equal to one-quarter of Adelaide's daily consumption - has passed through wetlands into the aquifer 165m below the surface."

This is just brilliant. Another go ahead, sustainable idea but it needs 3 more years of testing. It collects storm water which passes through a wetlands into an underground aquifer. Fantastic planning and thinking because it benefits the environment as well as us. As much as we'd like to start using this idea it does have to go the full distance research because anything with water can start off really well and then a few years down the track there are problems with moulds, algae, water borne diseases. We just have to wait and in the meantime be really glad we have got some sustainable stuff up and running.
