Drinking marathon saves poisoned tourist

Drinking marathon saves poisoned tourist : "After running out of pharmaceutical-grade alcohol used to help stop the poison turning toxic in the stomach, staff of the north Queensland hospital had to give the man rounds of rum, scotch and vodka."

I bet there are a few people who wouldn't mind being treated like that for some ailment! Poor guy. It doesn't say why he had ingested poison found in anti-freeze. Given he is a tourist it is a good thing Mackay Base Hospital can think on its feet. The family , presumably in Italy still have a relative thanks to the staff thinking on their feet. I hope he will be okay. What a scare.
