Study questions Govt's anti-drug strategy - : "'What we found was that over 80 per cent endorsed that substance use was harmful for young people with mental health problems,' he said."
That's at least a start and with drugs, since they are so trendy, so acceptable and so in your face, then the first step is to get people to know and acknowledge a link and the truth of what's drugs do. We have to get people to accept the truth first. Then we can look at strategies for changing behaviour and we are talking about in the moment people. They really don't think it applies to them. To that extent the Government campaign has got it into mainstream conversations and lives because drugs thrive on secrecy and people not talking. Ge the facts out. Show them the pictures. Demonstrate who benefits and what harm can be done. It doesn't have to be big but it does have to be a constant drip feed so that those who are trying to change behaviour have some decent information and strategies at their fingertips. It has taken a while for us to get to this stage with drugs running through and over everything, so it has to be carefully unpicked and reset.
