Poverty is becoming history

Poverty is becoming history: aid report: "'Given this very pessimistic view of the developing world, it is remarkable that a large majority of people still support aid,' says the report, Island Nation or Global Citizen?"

If the poverty figures have gone down from 21.3% of the world population to 17.3% then it is a sign we are improving things but it's not a massive change and we are still seeing people who are living in abject circumstances and we do care that everyone has food to eat , medicine and a place to call home. It is something we care about very deeply because we consider ourselves to be fortunate and we don't like to think others are suffering because of the random circumstances of their birth. Yes, our government can do more and lots of us have lifted our game to think more about others. We haven't been knitting all winter for ourselves and we haven't been sorting through our winter clothes and blankets for ourselves. We are not pessimistic. We are dead set serious because it has to stop. Poverty has to stop.
