Merkel wants G8 to lead on climate change. : "'If we don't stop it, it will lead to massive environmental problems and increased economic burdens."

It would be fantastic if our leaders could actually lead in this. They are fast becoming obsolete because we can see they are not addressing in any effective way the things which are important to us and our planet. Our leaders are coming from the media and entertainment industry, from community organisations and from grass roots activity. We are millions. Millions of us can make a change and when elected leaders prevaricate and muck us about with hot air, well, we have been just getting on with what needs to be done. I am with Angela Merkl, we have to work on this in a concerted, planned way or the ultimate costs will be borne by our future generations and that is pretty irresponsible when there are things we can do and there are experts who can advise us...and more than that, there is healthy, open debate about it.
