Coping with trauma

Coping with trauma : "They may have trouble sleeping, get tired easily, have trouble concentrating, and experience nightmares, flashbacks and feelings of 'reliving' the experience, which happen without warning."

It's good to see an article like this because it's the first step in helping us help ourselves and each other. Most people in the world are being traumatised in one way or another. Our world has recently become extremely disconcerting and very traumatic. People switching off from headlines are not immune. They are trying to cope. A lot of people have had to stop listening to the news, watching the news and buying newspapers. It has been too disturbing for them and their families. Many people are turning back to people contacts and relationships to help themselves manage. We are also finding we are spending a significant amount of time trying to help each other manage trauma. It's true. It is happening to so many and we have to change the way we are living in the world and we have to change the reporting which constantly comes into our lives because it is making us lose hope and making us think that the world has gone mad. We are all of great support to each other and we are starting to get to the bottom of why everything seems to be so disastrous in recent years. We've had so much and some countries are having more than their fair and reasonable share. This article starts to gently scratch the surface for us and it has done it in a good way because it is telling us what to do, what to look for a getting us to start thinking how we can manage better. It is in our hands.
