SA a leader on women's rights

SA a leader on women's rights: "The Rann Government was praised as the only state which supported women's rights, while NSW was criticised as showing 'little or no commitment to gender equality'."

The Rann Government probably has had effect on how our women perform because it views them as a normal part of our society. They are not patronised. Women are just women like men are just men and we do not see a line up of one or other sex to prove a point or whatever it might be. We have a long history of women's rights . Check it out. Women here are normal people like men are normal people. The alarming trend at the Federal level is women cannot seem to hold top positions. They just can't survive the tactics and need to get more support because we have lost far too many good women from top positions. I don't like women being advantaged on percentages, or made allowances for to get them in . We do not need that. That attitude is so patronising. Women like Carmel Lawrence, Julia Gillard and Ita Buttrose can just be there and THINK. Often the tactic is to turn streotypical dribble onto the women and for some reason they do not just brush it off. We need to get the skills and thinking going, we need to wise up to the tranparent tactics and we need to value good leadership. I guess women get to chose here. They can come in and out of the limelight as they please. So can men. I think that's the key. Running hard and then hauling back for reneration and reflection.
