Most Americans lack confidence in military

Most Americans lack confidence in military, media information: poll. : "'People are questioning whether they are getting good information about how things are going and it's affecting the public's confidence in the Government and military as well as the press,' Mr Dimock said."

I actually feel sorry for the poor buggas who are stuck there. They KNOW how it is and the amazing thing is politicians have even ignored the advice and direction of top, experienced generals. That is unbelievable. So while the politicians blow off their hot air there are Iraqis suffering and military personnel trying to follow the plans laid down for them and they all KNOW. You have to be there to know and who wants that and so why would we expect to get any accurate information because it's a lot of position bargaining. When the experienced military people speak they are not listened to. So, are we going to learn from any of this? Too late now to say we shouldn't have done it. In the end we shall have to let Iraq sort it out because it is costing billions and more importantly, lives. My hope is that we shall have a really well thought out plan by expert miltary staff to ensure the safe withdrawal of troops. The worst thing yet would be an ill conceived political agenda which will put the troops at risk as they withdraw their support in various areas. If the Iraqis then choose to kill themselves then all we can do is regret we invaded them and destabilised them when some people thought taking away Saddam Hussein would help them when he was being so defiant of UN requests.
