Struggling Coles puts itself up for sale

Struggling Coles puts itself up for sale : "He said the rebadging of the discount Bi-Lo stores to Coles had not achieved the earnings and sales uplift that had been envisaged."

Indeed. We are watching Australian companies go up the spout and out the window. The economic management of our successful companies in these so called prosperous times has led to us watching our familiar names collapse around us and be led and run by overseas interests. I am sure this will really help us. Taking away Bi Lo meant we saw quite clearly what was occuring. Suddenly we had no choice. Many of us chose Bi Lo . It was really annoying to find out we couldn't chose and where ever we go there is Coles or Woolworths. We are confronted by non choice on a daily basis and the worst thing is our shelves are being filled with names we do not recognise or we know are not ours. So we are getting angry. Economic management has led us to a non country. We are watching local stuff that we grew up on disappear and suddenly we are expected to endorse things we do not like. If Coles is collapsing it's because we are tired of 700 choices of milk, the brands we want being hidden away or right down the bottom where we cannot see them...I ask. We have had so many brand changes and so many things become so different. We are getting people free check outs and that means job loss. We are getting the same thing everywhere and SA has thrived on choice. You cannot get the yoghurt you want, the cheese choices are diminishing. Soon we shall look at our shelves and it will be one brand. It is just nonsense but it is also playing us for fools. Coles used to be where you went to get vaiety and something different as well as the staples. Bi Lo was always about being price conscious and keeping it simple. We are not a bit happy.
