Rudd's policy would destabilise Iraq

Rudd's policy would destabilise Iraq, says PM. : "'My charge is that the consequences of the policy you are advocating would be to destabilise Iraq and threaten the security interests of this country through a defeat of the United States in Iraq,' he said."

Iraq IS unstable. More unstable than ever. Before we invaded the regime was undesirable and the country was under stress from a cruel regime and trade sanctions. it wasn't unstable. Now it's a gaping, bloody black hole which sucks up human blood and squillions of dollars and armaments. It is chaos. What we have done has made it a ruined tract of land and what we are doing is contributing to the chaos and so, the question is , should we get out and leave well enough alone ? We created this and maybe we should clean it up...but it just sucks up more lives and more money. Nobody's policy is right. Nobody's policy is wrong. We have NOTHING to offer the Iraqis and we have NOTHING to win or lose from this. We just keep sacrificing and sacrificing. To stand there and argue about it is a dreadful waste of time because in the meantime more people have been maimed and killed. Their people , our people. It is very self indugent to argue about winners and losers. Everyone is dying. Do something about it.
