Howard fails to ease MPs' concerns for Hicks.

Howard fails to ease MPs' concerns for Hicks. : "The Prime Minister is toughening his language on the detention of Australian David Hicks, but that has failed to ease the concerns of some Coalition backbenchers."

Absolutely. That we cannot and have not dealt with this makes us look so incompetent and weak. Letting David Hicks stay in Guantanamo for 5 years is evidence we have no way of dealing with people. At this stage he is a mess. It is openly and undeniably cruel and if that is the best a civilised nation can do, what will we do with real problems? It is not confidence inspiring at all. He needs to be home, we need to hear what it's all about and we need to know he has had a humane and fair treatment. At this stage our leaders are demonstrably powerless.
