So what am I reading? Quite a few things at the moment for some reason. Some of them are quite serious and others are a sheer delight, like Mireille Guiliano's French Women for all Seasons. I was out shopping over Christmas and I happen to see it. I wasn't going to buy it but the shiny red lettering and the sage green cover kept calling to me. At the time I wasn't reading anything. If nothing else purchasing and reading this book has got me right back into reading. It has some great, authentic recipes, but a great deal of love and enthusiasm for her own culture. She is very Française and shares it in a very easy many. She looks at how the seasons herald the appreciation of different foods, natural changes and then activities. It's a very relaxing book to read and works very positively on you as you read it. I didn't read her first book, which was a run-a-way success, the one about French women not getting fat. I may well purchase it because I value her style. It's a book which helps you appreciate the simple things in life. I'm half way through it and am savouring it so that I do not finish too quickly!
