Flintoff's 89 lifts England to 291 - Yahoo!7 Sport: "Flintoff made 89 in his side's competitive total of 291, and was out chasing a boundary to push him closer to what would have been a welcome century after a disastrous end to 2006 for him and his team."
Not disasterous. This has been compelling cricket and it takes two sides to make it that electric and that worth watching. The English are a good team. It's just that Australia was determined to get the Ashes and they are going to lose 3 brilliant players to retirement and so they are determined to leave on a great high. We know how to surf the awesome waves. We just do. That England is still there and still coming up with magic moments is a sign they are a pretty robust side. Yes, there's some work they can do and yes, it would have been great had Flintoff got his century. Flintoff is a good captain and he does not fold. He has a lot of guts and he can get his team out there and in shape to combat what is an incredible rush of Australian power. Our guys are very confident and skilled and there is a reason for it...they too have had to combat the onslaught of other teams and players over the years.
