Pay TV penetration 'to double by 2012'

Pay TV penetration 'to double by 2012' :

"Subscription television is set to double its penetration in the Australian market in the next five to seven years, the head of a local pay TV company says."

The article says we don't watch TV together and the sales of DVDs are going down. It's not my experience. DVD sales seems to be very popular whereas I seem to be one of a few who still buys CDs and yet CD sales seem okay. I think most people download music these days. I like the albums and covers. I like the art work as much as I like the music. DVDs may go down the downloadable road but people seems to watch films together and have film nights still. TV seems to be less and less popular because of the content but there are shows which are runaway successes. Pay TV is popular but a lot of people abandon it because there are too many things to watch and then you end up with a sedentary family. So, I actually wouldn't like to guess where this is all headed because just to complicate it , people have started talking about how much they like net TV!!
