Wind farm study confounds critics, says Vic Govt.:
"He says a lot could be achieved if Victoria could reach its target of 1,000 megawatts of wind energy.
'We would reduce greenhouse gases by up to 2.6 million tonnes every year,' he said."
The independent study has shown that Victoria is saving 250,000 tonnes of greenhouse emissions each year by using the eindframs it has. That is truly astounding and a really good sign. Renewable energy is soemthing we can and should invest in. Will it cost more? Oughtn't to. Initially the capital outlay on the wind turbines wil be huge but it can be done in batches. Who has the costing on this? I haven't seen anything to suggest this unless you make a massive change to wind power in one hit. Make sense to swap over.
"A report commissioned by AusWEA in 2004 says Australia can expect the price of wind energy to overlap gas prices between 2008 and 2016 and to overlap coal prices from 2016 on, if wind industry growth here keeps up with global growth."
