Sacked mine worker to sue. :
"She says she was horrified by several clauses, including one which would see her fined $200 if she took a day off sick without giving at least 12 hours notice."
Everyone has been talking about this. It was all so unnecessary. It's sad someone starts out on their working life like this and it's sad it all has to hit the news and courts. We used to negotiate all of this . Even non union members had access to representation and advice. We are confused and unhappy and before we knew what we were doing and things rarely went this far. We were clear before because we had a line of action and we had advice which we could make sense of. Now we have this confusion, lack of communication, an ill informed workplace. What is the point of that? As I have asked before, why would you seek to muddle and mess up the work place?? It is going to be a costly exercise now.
