Wanganeen retires after 300-game career. :
"Former Brownlow medallist and Port Adelaide and Essendon premiership player, Gavin Wanganeen, has officially retired after a stellar 300-match AFL career."
I only got to know about this guy because a lot of young people were citing him as one of the best footballers they knew and they really looked up to him. I kept mishearing his name and eventually I got it right!! I think this is what this man is all about - inspiration. He has written on so many lives and he has lit up so many football careers. When people look up to you and use you as an inspiration for their own life, it doesn't get better than that. I hope he will now focus on what he loves and will still find the time and energy to inspire others. A sad loss, but I think it's fair to say he's done his bit for active football and needs to be looking at building the rest of his life.
