Premiers line up to reject nuclear plant.

Premiers line up to reject nuclear plant. :
"Premiers of eastern states have rejected any moves to build a nuclear power plant in their state, after a report released yesterday on likely sites."

Not many people are keen on the idea of nuclear power here. A lot of us live on the coast and the coast is also where amny of us holiday. The sites suggested would interfere with those two major aspects of Australian living. We are concerned about the financial costs and the costs in terms of radioactive waste and health problems. Some experts have brought us some useful information in the last 24 hours and we appreciate that. We don't have a big population and therefore alternative energy sources especially solar and wind would seem to be better options for us. What other nations want in terms of their energy needs is up to those nations to decide. While we debate nuclear, what are we not considering? Whatever else, we do need to address greenhouse emissions and pronto.
