AdelaideNow... 9000 child smokers in SA:
"SA Substance Abuse Minister Gail Gago was pleased to see less students turning to substance abuse and instead making 'informed, healthy choices about their lives'."
The figures are encouraging and I think we have only started getting the guts to tackle substance abuse in young people head on. Before we were wondering what to do and it got out of hand. We are adults. We can say know. We can guide them, inform them, set boundaries. There world is littered with traps for them to fall into . Most of them do pretty well, but it's better when we take the lead and help them pick their way through the temptations and traps. Most of the things offered to young kids are really damaging to their health and can be lethal. I think we have a better picture now and we can only build on what we are doing. It's not for the faint hearted but we don't lack courage now our minds are made up. They are our future.
